The small print
Four terms that decide a bonus’s real value
A headline like “100% up to £100” tells you little. These are the terms to read before you deposit.
Wagering
How many times you must bet the bonus before you can withdraw. In Great Britain it is capped at 10× since January 2026. Every extra multiple adds cost.
Game contribution
Slots usually count 100%. Table games and live casino often count 10% or nothing, which multiplies how much you have to bet.
Max cashout and max bet
A cap on winnings removes the upside. A maximum stake while the bonus is active limits how you can play. UK slot stakes are also capped at £5 a spin, or £2 if you are 18 to 24.
Expiry
Bonuses and free spins often expire within days. Wagering you can’t finish in time is worth nothing.

FAQ
Casino bonus questions
How do I work out if a casino bonus is worth it?
Multiply the wagering requirement by the amount it applies to to get the total you must bet. Multiply that by the game’s house edge (100% minus the RTP) to get the average cost of the wagering. If the bonus is bigger than that cost, it is worth something on average.
What is the maximum wagering requirement in the UK?
Since 19 January 2026, casinos licensed by the Gambling Commission can’t set wagering above 10 times the bonus, and one bonus can’t mix casino and sports betting.
Why does game contribution matter?
If a game counts only 10% towards wagering, every £1 you bet clears just 10p. You have to bet ten times as much, which makes the wagering ten times as expensive.
What is a max cashout?
A cap on how much you can withdraw from bonus winnings. It cuts off the big wins that make a bonus worthwhile, so it can turn a positive offer into a poor one.
Does a positive value mean I will win?
No. It means the offer is worth taking on average across many players. Most players still lose their deposit while clearing the wagering, and a few win big. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose.
